Golden Triangle Of India


  This famous tourist circuit is also popular as India’s Golden triangle. It connects our capital city Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. It is called Golden Triangle because of the triangular shape formed by the locations of New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on a map.The circuit is about 720 km by road. Each destination is about 4 to 6 hours of drivefrom another. Let’s start the tour.

Day-1

On day-1, reach the national Capital New Delhi either by train or air from any part of  the country. Upon reaching New Delhi check into your hotel.

Day-2

India Gate

On 2nd day of your tour go for Delhi sight seeing. A local cab will charge around Rs 2000 for whole day tour. First go to Lotus Temple. Lotus Temple is a building dedicated to the Baha'i faith. This magnificent structure is look a like of a stunning white petal lotus. The building was completed in the year 1986. The Lotus-temple is one of the seven Baha'i Houses of  Worship present around the world. Currently, it is one of the most visited tourist spots in New Delhi. The park surrounding thetemple is well kept. You can enjoy a walk around this calm and quiet park. During peak hours, you can see many people walking around this park and taking selfies.

Your next destination will be Qutub Minar. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site locatedin Mehrauli and its construction was started in 1192 by Qutb Ud-Din-Aibak, the then Sultanof Delhi. It is the tallest individual tower in the world and second tallest monument of Delhi. The first Muslim ruler of  Delhi, Qutab-ud-din Aibak, started the construction of the Qutab Minar in 1200 AD, but could only finish the basement.

His successor, Iltutmush, added the next three storeys. In 1368, Firoz Shah Tughlak constructed the fifth and the last storey. Even though in ruins, the Quwwat Ui Islam (Light of Islam) Mosque in the Qutab complexis one of the most magnificent structures in the world. It was the first mosque builtin Delhi after the Islamic conquest of India. In front of the Mosque, there is the famous iron pillar of Qutub Complex. The iron pillar is one of the world's fore most metal surgical curiosities.

At the back of the complex you can see an L-shaped construction. It consists of Alauddin Khilji's tomb and a madrasa built by him.Currently, it is one of the most visited tourist attractions of  Delhi. Most of the time, youcan see a large crowd roaming around this place and taking pictures. Entry fee here is Rs 40 per person for Indian Tourist and Rs 200 per person for foreigners. The area houses India's most important government buildings, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India and the Secretariat building housing the Prime Minister's Office and several other important ministries. The hill is a slightly elevated portion higher than the surrounding area. There are two blocks here. The building on the left hand side is the defence Ministry. The building on the right hand side is the Secretariat building housing the Prime Minister's Office.Behind this you can see Rashtrapati Bhavan,the official residence of the President of India.

Next go to Agrasen ki Baoli. Agrasen ki Baoli is an ancient water reservoir which rises from the depths of the earth to stand a top 103 stone steps. This is a quiet place located in the middle of busy Connaught place. The place is popular for serene experience and an ideal sight for photography lovers.

From Agrasen ki Baoli go to visit famous Red Fort. This is probably the most popular and commonly known place of New Delhi. The Red Fort is a historical fortification located in thecentre of the city. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty. Thefort was constructed by Shah Jahan as a result of a capital shift from Agra to Delhi. Itbecame a UNESCO world heritage site in 2007. The main entrance of the fort is Lahori Gate. It is named so because of its orientation towards the city of Lahore.

After entering through Lahori Gate, there is a small market named chhatta chowk which sells local hand made products. You may enjoy some shopping here. This market leads to an open outer court. In the east wall of the court stands the now-isolated Naubat khanaor the drum house. On the far side of the inner court is the Diwan-i-Aam, the Public Audience Hall. The courtyard behind it leads to the imperial apartments.

The building at the far right is Rang mahal or the residence of emperor’swives. Beside it was the Khas Mahal or emperor’sapartment. On the left side of Khas Mahal stood Diwan-i-khas. Beside it, you can see hamam or Royal bath. West of the hammam is the Moti Masjid, the Pearl Mosque. Entry fee here is Rs 50 per person for IndianTourist and Rs 200 per person for foreigners. Audio guided tour charge is Rs 200.

Next go to visit Chittaranjan Park Kali Bari. This serene temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and is an auspicious place for all Hindu devotees.

Our next destination is India Gate. The All India War Memorial, popularly known as theIndia Gate is located along the Rajpath in New Delhi. The grand structure of India Gateis an awe-inspiring sight. This 42-meter tall historical structure is one of the largest war memorials in the country.

It is also a treat for architecture lovers. Dedicated to 82,000 Indian and British soldiers who died during the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War, this monument has the names of 13,300 service men inscribed on its surface. The foundation stone of this structure was laid down in the year 1921,and the final building was unveiled in the year 1931 The premises of India Gate also house the Amar Jawan Jyoti, which is a kindled structureright underneath the archway. Built in 1971 post the Bangladesh Liberation War, the AmarJawan Jyoti symbolises the eternal, immortal soldiers of India.Currently this is the most crowded tourist attraction of the city. Every time you willsee people roaming around the complex and taking pictures.

Behind India Gate, take a tour of National War memorial which is also a beautiful placeto visit. The National War Memorial is a monument constructed by the Government of India in the vicinity of the India Gate to honour its Armed Forces. It was established on 25th February, 2019. Names of martyrs killed in wars are inscribed on the memorial walls. A War Museum will be also constructed in the adjoining Princess Park area.Try to visit here at the time of sunset. At sunset you can enjoy the retreat ceremony here.

 At this place we finish our Delhi tour andon next day, we will move towards Agra. Agra is a place famous for stunning architecture.The city was once the capital of Mughal rulers and is home to one of the seven wonders ofthe world Taj Mahal. At Delhi, you will find numerous hotels and resorts of different budget range for night stay. All of these properties have online booking facilities. We will share the links in the end.


Day-3

we will start our journey towards Agra from Delhi. Agra is a beautiful city located on the banks of River Yamuna in the Indian state Uttar Pradesh. The city was once the capital of Famous Mughal Rulers. Currently, it is one of the prime tourist attractions of the country as it has some most notable Mughal-era buildings like Taj-Mahal,  Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri. All of these places are now UNESCO World Heritage sites. Let’s start the tour.



Early in the morning, start for Agra from the capital city of India New Delhi. The distance of Agra from New Delhi is 233.1 Km via Taj Express Highway or Yamuna Expressway. By road, this is the shortest route from New Delhi to Agra. A local cab will charge around Rs 3000 for a whole day Agra tour from Delhi. It will take around 4 hours to reach Agra from Delhi via this road. The road has many lanes so that it is impossible to get slowed down in this road due to traffic.

Moreover, the condition of this road is perfect. Hence, you can expect a speedy, no disturbance journey here. However, there is one disadvantage here, though nominal, this route has toll taxes. Other than private cars, there are also trainand bus services available from Delhi to Agra. A train will take around 2 hours to reach Agra from Delhi. The fare is around Rs150 per person. Bus fare is around Rs. 400 per person.

Upon reaching Agra 1st go to visit Taj Mahal. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions of India. If you are visiting Taj Mahal by your own car then you have to get down from your car 1 Km before the main building because the parking space of  Taj Mahal is 1 Km ahead of the main building. From there you can avail battery operated cars, buses, local horse carts or rickshaws to go to the adjacent ticket counter of the Taj Mahal. The bus rate is Rs 10/- per person and the battery operated car rate is Rs 20/- per person. The entry fee for Taj Mahal is Rs 50/- for Indian tourists, Rs 1110/- for foreign tourists and Rs 540 for citizens of SAARC and BIMSTEC countries. There is one additional charge of Rs 200/- for visiting the main mausoleum which is optional. Children up to 15 years are free to enter the premises. Taj Mahal is an integrated complex of structures. The main building of this complex is the famousivory-white marble Mausoleum which the 5th Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan had built in the memory of his loving wife Mumtaz Mahal to house her tomb.

This is a UNESCO world heritage site and alsowas declared as a winner of the new 7 wonders of the world. The place attracts 7-8 million visitors from all over the world through out the year. If you are visiting the main mausoleum thenyou have to purchase disposable shoe cover which will be charged Rs 20/- per pair. After entering through the main entrance you will see a long passage way passing through a well-manicured garden. In the middle of the passage way, there isa beautiful water fountain.

On a public holiday or Sunday, you will see a large crowd roaming here and there and taking pictures in front of this wonder of the World. The view of the Yamuna River and surrounding from the basement of the main mausoleum needs a special mention.

From Taj Mahal move towards Agra Fort. This is another UNESCO world heritage site. The fort was once the main residence of great Mughal emperors and it was built and rede signed by three great emperors of Mughal dynasty Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah Jahan. After you enter through the main entrance the 1st building you will see is the Jahangiri Mahal. It was built by Emperor Akbar. The building was built with red sandstone. It is a two-storied building and was once the main residence of Emperors Akbar and Jahangir. You will be amazed by the beautiful architecture of  this palace.


Agra Fort


Moving from this palace you will come to the Diwan-i-aam or the public Audience hall. This is a beautiful hallway famous for notable artwork on its pillars. Behind Diwan-i-aam, there are the main imperial buildings built by Emperor Shah Jahan.

The garden in front of the buildings is known as anguri bag. Behind it, you can see the residence of Emperor Shah Jahan and his two daughters Jahanara and Roshanara. Unlike Jahangiri Mahal, these buildings are built by white marble stones. Through out the year you can see a large number of tourists visiting this beautiful fort and enjoying them selves. In the evening you can be entertained by alight and sound show here. You can also purchase the entry tickets of these two places online. We will share the respective links in the end.

 There are numerous hotels and resorts available in Agra where you can put up for the night. All of them have online booking facilities. We will share the links in the end. A typical mid-range hotel will charge around Rs 2000/- for one night. Here we finish our 3rd-day tour. In the next day we will visit Fatehpur Sikri and then move towards Jaipur.


Day-4

Here we will start our journey from Agra and will move to wards Jaipur after visiting Fatehpur Sikri. Let’s start the tour. Day-4 Fatehpur Sikri is a town in Agra districtof Indian state Uttar Pradesh. The city was founded by Mughal Emperor Akbar after his victory over Gujarat. The main place to visit here is the Fatehpur-Sikri fort. If you are traveling Fatehpur Sikri by your own car then you have to park the car just after entering through the outer gate of the city. The parking place here is a large complex where you can get every facility.

From this parking place, you have to avail government buses to go to the main fort entrance. The bus fare is Rs 10/- per person. The entry fee to Fatehpur Sikri fort is Rs.50/- for Indian tourists, Rs. 610/- for foreign tourists. Children up to 15 years are free to enterthe premises.

After entering through the main entrance you will see Diwan-i-am or the public audience hall of Emperor Akbar. Behind Diwan-i Am there is a big open space. In the middle of this open space stands the Diwan-i-Khas or the hall of private audience. The building is famous for its beautifully decorated central pillar. The pillar has a square base and octagonal shaft.

On the left of  Diwan-i-Khas is the treasury building of Emperor Akbar. Behind it, you can see Anup Talao. It is a tank in front of the khwabgah. The tank is made up of red sand stone. In front of Anup Talao, there is Panch Mahal. Panch Mahal was built by Akbar.

The palace was near the harem and was a summer retreat for royal family members. Going from bottom to top each floor is smaller than the other. There are 84 pillars on the first floor. Each pillar had a jali work from where women can have a glimpse of the city.

Beside Panch Mahal, there is Khas Mahal orthe Emperor’s private palace. It is a two-storied building. This building is connected to the Ladies harem. At the centre of the ladies harem stood the palace of Jodhabai, the Hindu Rajput wife of Emperor Akbar.

The palace has notable Gujarati influencein its architecture and is built around a courtyard. Special care was being taken to ensure the privacy of this Palace. In this Palace complex, you can see the summer and winter Palace of Jodhabai. These two are double storied structure famousfor intricate Jali work.

On the third side, you will see the Temple where Jodhabai used to worship God. At the ground floor of this complex, you canbe entertained by an audio-visual show which tells the story of Fatehpur Sikri. On one side of Jodhabai’s Palace, you can see the horse stable. At the end of the horse stable, there is Birbal’s Palace. The palace was built on the basis of Mughaland Persian architecture and is of two stories. On the other side of Jodhabai’s palace,there is another palace which was belonged to the Christian wife of Emperor Akbar.

From the back of the harem complex, you can clearly see the entrance of the fort. In front of  Panch Mahal, you can see Pachisi Court. A Pachisi Court was built by Akbar to play the Pachisi game. A ground with black and white checks was built and humans were used instead of mohras to play the game. Emperor Akbar used to play this game with his queens and other important royal members.

This fort is now a UNESCO world heritage siteand experiences thousands of visitors every day. From Fatehpur Sikri go to Jaipur via Bharatpur. The distance of Jaipur from Fatehpur Sikriis 207.6 Km via NH21 and it will take around 4 hours to reach Jaipur from Fatehpur Sikri. The road from Fatehpur Sikri to Jaipur is very beautiful but it has toll charges which are a bit high.

At the entrance of Jaipur, you can enjoy the beauty of Aravalli hills. After reaching Jaipur first visit City Palace. The magnificent City Palace in Jaipur is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the city. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during the years 1729 to 1732. The vast complex of the palace occupied one-seventh of the walled city. It was once the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur.


Aravalli hills


The architecture of this palace needs a special mention as it is a perfect blend of Mughal and Rajput style architecture. From the city Palace go to visit Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal stands at the intersection of the main road in Jaipur, Badi Chaupad. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799. Hawa Mahal derives its name from its unique structure, which is a mesh of small windows that allows cool wind to enter the palace to keep it comfortable during the hot summer days.

It is located right on the edge of the CityPalace Jaipur. The entry fee to Hawa Mahal is Rs 40/- per head for Indian visitors. A charming fountain welcomes you inside the main palace, from where on you can make your way up to the different floors. Hawa Mahal palace is a five-story building each of which has a uniquely decorated chamber. It has been decorated with 953 tiny windows, also known as 'Jharokhas' and embellished with gorgeous lattice work.

There is a slop in every floor through whichyou can move to another floor. Roam around, visit every nook and corner, experience this stunning architecture of this majestic palace. Only the fourth story has a steep staircase to go to the top floor. From the top of the palace, you can get abrilliant view of the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and the ever-busy Siredeori Bazar. There is a small museum as well which holdssome rich relics and miniature paintings.

From Hawa Mahal take a tour of the famous pink city. Pink City in Jaipur refers to the old walled city that was built in the year 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II. The wall that marks the boundary of the PinkCity is about six meters high and three meters thick and encompasses a number of structures within its confines. In Jaipur, you will find many hotels in the different budget range. You can also book them online. We will share the respective links in the end.

Here we finish our 4th-day tour. In the next day, we will go to visit the famous Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, and Jalmahal.

Day-5

Hello Friends, Today we are going to share our 4th episodeof Golden Triangle tour. In this episode, we will share our tour of Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, and Jalmahal.  In the previous episodes, we have covered 4th days of our tour. Here we will share our 5th-day tour plan.

Jaipur, is a palace complex situated in the heart of Pink City, Jaipur that was built between 1729 and 1732, initially by Sawai Jai Singh II. This palace reflects the fusion of Mughal, Rajput and European architecture.

exteremely beautiful place called "jaygarh fort" in Jaipur rajasthan This is situated around 15 kms from Jaipur This fort is situated at Hill known as Cheel ka Teela (Hill of Eagles) Hilly road to Jaigarh fort gives a picturseque view all around. There are multiple spots on the way which provide an excellent view of  Aravalli hills and the Amer Fort down below. During rains this area becomes surrounded with lush green trees plants and bushes all around appearing as if land is covered under a green sheet. Cars running on road down present a breath taking view Jai garh means Fort of victory.  It has a length of 3 kilometres and width of 1 kilometre.


Jaigarh Fort


 Hundreds to thousands of tourists from overseas visit here every year. Peak season being Nov-Feb. This fort features a cannon name "Jaivana" which was manufatured in this fort. This is considered world's largest cannon. The cannon foundry Jaigarh Fort had a massive wind tunnel that sucked air from the high mountains into its furnace creating temperaturs as high as 2400 Fereinheight. The melted metal would fill a reservoir chamber and pass into a cannon mold in the casting pit. Cannons made here were massive.

The fort is highly fortified with thick walls of red sandstone. A central watch tower on a raied ground provdes excellent 360 degree view .  A perfect water harvesting system existed here.

From Jaigarh Fort move towards Nahargarh Fort. Nahargarh fort is located at higher hills of Jaipur This fort is symbol of man's hard work, determination and imagination. If man determines he can creates such monuments even at high rise hills.


Nahargarh fort


Nahargarh Fort stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the city of Jaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734. Nahargarh once formed a strong defense ring for the city. this fort was originally named Sudarshangarh Fort. Later, it was given a new name, Nahargarh which means 'abode of tigers'. The story behind this change of name is that the popular belief is that Nahar here stands for Nahar Singh Bhomia, whose spirit haunted the place and obstructed construction of the fort. Nahar's spirit was pacified by building a temple in his memory within the fort, which thus became known by his name, Nahargarh.

From Nahargarh Fort move towards Jal mahal.  Jal mahal is a beautiful spot in jaipur situated on amber fort road A palace is built in between Lake water  thats why jal mahal during evening hours localities gather here and chill out some vendors also sale gift useful items here scenic beauty can be viewed all around some structures of jaipur architecture work are also here Jaipurites spend evening here to chill out lively and colorful enthusiasm can be felt everywhere structure of jaipur style can also  be seen you can feel cool breeze and peaceful environment here evening lights appear too good.

Here we finish our 5th-day tour. In the next day, we will go to visit the famous  Amber Fort and Albert Hall Museum.


Day-6

 Hello Friends, Today we are going to share our 6th day of  Golden Triangle tour. In this day, we will share our tour of Amber Fort and Albert Hall Museum. Here we will share our 6th-day tour plan.

On the 6th day, early in the morning, go to visit Amber Fort by car. A local cab will charge around Rs 3000 for a whole day tour. After crossing the main city of Jaipur, you will be exposed to the rough Aravalli mountain range. The unnatural rustic beauty of this oldest mountain range of India is a relief for our urban eyes. If you are going to Amber fort by your own reserved car then you have to park your car at the base of the hill. From there you can either take a jeep or can enjoy elephant ride to reach the main Fort entrance.

The fare of the jeep is Rs 500 and the elephant ride will cost Rs 1100 for 2 people. We availed a jeep to reach the top. We captured entire journey to share with you. The Jeep entered the fort from the back side and stopped near the main entrance. From there you have to cover the fort tour on foot. In front of the main entrance, you can see local musicians playing their local instruments and some local people selling local hand-made products. You can buy small souvenirs from them. After passing through the main gate of the fort you will enter to the first court-yard of Amber Fort. There are two big entrances at the two ends of  this court-yard. One is named Suraj Pol and the other is named Chand Pol. If you are taking elephant ride then you will come straight to this point through the front gate.

At the far end of this courtyard, there are two entrances. Through the first entrance, you will be able to visit the Temple of Shila Devi. Videographey is prohibited at the temple. Through the second entrance, you will be ableto enter the second courtyard of the Fort. From the top of this gate, you will be able to get a clear view of the entire first courtyard and the beautiful surroundings of the fort.



In the second courtyard, first, visit the Diwan-i-am or the public audience hall. This hall is famous for its beautifully decorated pillars. Crossing the Diwan i am you will find the beautifully designed Ganesh Pol. It is a gate in the second court-yard entering through which you will come to the main palace. After entering through the Ganesh Pol you will be exposed to a large ground.

On one side of this ground stands the famous Sheesh Mahal. It was once the main residence of the king. On the walls of Sheesh Mahal, you can seethe beautiful art work using thousands of convex mirrors. It is a two-story construction. From the top floor of this palace, you will get a clear view of Diwan i am. Also, you will be able to see the surrounding Aravalli mountain ranges from this place. From the back of this rooftop, you can see the old Amber fort where princess Jodhabai was born.

On the other side of the ground, stands the Sukh Mahal or the summer and monsoon palace of the queen. You can see stunning marble art work in this palace. Here, you can see a passage inside the queen’s bedroom. Once, water used to flow through this passagein order to make this room cool in the scorching summer days.

In between these two palaces, there is a beautiful garden. Some portions of the famous hindi film JodhaAkbar was shot here. Crossing this ground you will enter into the women’s quarter where the 12 queens of the king stayed. Each queen had a two-story building in which there were a separate bedroom, dining room and dressing room.

At the center of this women’s quarter, there is the third courtyard of the palace. This was a highly secured place. There is a two-story structure which surrounds this courtyard. There are some steep stair cases which lead you to the top floor. On the top floor, you can see the places once where royal guards used to stand to provide security to the royal ladies. At the back side of the main palace, there was the royal kitchen. Here you can see the enormous cooking pots which were used for cooking in past days. These pots were also used in the film JodhaAkbar.

After completing your fort tour you will again come out to the first courtyard. Amber fort is open from 10 am to 5.30 pm. Entry fee here is Rs100 for Indian touristsand Rs 550 for Foreigners. Since this fort is a UNESCO world heritage site, you can see large crowd everywhere inside the fort. In the evening you can be entertained by light and sound show here. The ticket price is Rs150 per person.

From Amber fort, go to visit the Albert Hall Museum. This is the oldest museum of the state and functions as the State Museum of Rajasthan. It is also called the Government Central Museum. In the front hall of this museum, you can see beautiful Paintings of all the kings of Jaipur.

In the inner room, you can see a rich collection of jewelry, carpets, stone and metal sculptures and crystal artworks. The museum is open from 9 Am to 5 PM.
